I wasn't disappointed!I have to admit that I almost stopped reading this book after the first couple of chapters.
I would normally review the series as a whole rather than each individual book but with this series and with each book you come across there is a different story covering different characters, so I am going to do a review for each one.This is the first of a series and like any start, has to spend time setting up the situation. She quickly hooked me, and I fell in love with her new characters.

Her vivid descriptions paint this town and its people in a way that allowed me into their lives. Loved it, but then I always love everything Jodi writes. The main story and romance involved two older characters that have known each other for years. I enjoyed Lauren and the “gypsy house” adventure quite a bit because I remember being that young. Ransom Canyon has it all, suspense, family, & redemption. Every month our team sorts thro...Well, what do you expect when you pick up a book by Jodi Thomas? Half of me expected that he would find his biological father in that town but I’m going to guess that that won’t happen if it hasn’t already. She combines the best of small town life with the realities of everything that could be faced. The median age was 45 years. Start by marking “Ransom Canyon (Ransom Canyon, #1)” as Want to Read: but I think my favorite was Yancey... watching his character change and evolve over the course of the book was refreshing. Rancher Staten Kirkland, the last descendant of Ransom Canyon's founding father, is rugged and practical to the last. Ransom Canyon by Jodi Thomas is the first of a new series set in Crossroads Texas and surrounding ranches and farms. In fact, the Ransom Canyon I know is a part of Yellowhouse Canyon, which cuts a giant slash through the Llano Estacado.
