Promised Land was the first release of 1975 and it was the best of the Stax material from 1973, Elvis had not one Recording session inside a studio in 74, though a live concert was recorded and chopped down by rca for an in person album from memphis, so 1975 was to be a new start... 74 had ups and downs, Elvis was basically relegated to the country charts, rock and pop refused to play his newest works.... The album also features covers of songs by Perry Como, Tom Jones, The Pointer Sisters, Billy Swan, Faye Adams, The Statler Brothers and Charlie Rich.
